I have so many dreams for my life
I'm going this way and that
Spending so much time worrying
About how it's all turning out
But you know where I've been
And you know where I'm going
Cause you see all my plans for what they are
I lay them all down
You keep the sparrow flying in the sky
Why do I question you?
The flowers of the field are wonderful
I'm a child in the palm of his father
But you know where I've been
And you know where I'm going
Cause you see all my plans for what they are
Cause you know where I've been
And you know where I'm going
Cause you see all my plans for what they are
And you know, and you know
Cause you see my plans for what they all are
I will worship
I will bow down
To you always

ACG
I've just come back from the Arts/Colleges Getaway. It's where a couple of the christians in arts and some of the christians from colleges go away for a weekend, hear some bible talks, do some bible studies and basically hang out (something arts people do best!)
I only went got there on saturday morning because I had switch on friday night. Here is what happened:
me and Sam left penno at 7.30am... so early!
got to Loftus at 9am: quiet time. So I went and did my quiet time.
9.30: session 1. We sang 3 songs (I played vioin) and heard a talk from Hebrews by Lewis Jones. (I'll go through the talks later.
11: had a 10 minute break and then went into bible study. In bible study we read through the whole of Hebrews and talked about our overall impressions of the book. In my group were Elsie, Meredith, Lindsay, Daniel, and Frances.
12.30: had lunch of spag bol and salad.
Once we finised lunch we went for a bush walk... very pretty scenary and there was a river and then came back and played ping pong, lied on the couches, played cards and ate lots of cheese!
4.20: realised that we were supposed to start bible studies at 4, so started bible studies. We read through Hebrews again but this time looked at reccuring themes and main issues and discussed questions that came up.
5.30: ate dinner of chicken caserole and garlic bread
7: Lewis gave his second talk from Hebrews
8.30: fun time! Played so many new games. They are too hard to write up on blog, so I'll just give the names. They were
-Family Serious
-Big Tractor
-Carrots
-G'day Bruce
-Watermelon game
-Animal Kingdom
11.30: decided to go to bed.
Sunday
7.30: woke up, lay in bed for a while
8.30: ate breakfast - fruit loops and vegemite on toast. I also had a mandarin
9: quiet time. I did it outside and it was a beautiful day and very refreshing
9.30: sang some songs, then had our last talk from Lewis.
11: our last discussion group. Liz joined our group this time.
12: tidy up the place and packed up my bags
12.30: ate lunch of burgers and everything left over.
2.13: left to go to Sutherland train station. In my car were Karina, Meredith, Lindsay and Daniel.
2.25: got on the train to central, then I changed trains to go to home to penno.
and now I'm home.
Hebrews talks summary:
- we have confidence by blood and have a high priest over the house of God, Therefore, let us:
-draw near
-hold fast the confession and
-consider how to stir up one another
this is our faith.
- faith is working when our faith in God unleashes God's power. This power of assurance makes us continue to trust God in our times of suffering (i'm not sure if that made sense to you)
- a father will always discipline his children. We will face suffering because we are truly God's children.
- since we are witnesses of the faith, let us
-lay aside every weight (our sin)
-run the raice with enduranc
-consider him
hmmm yes that was a very breif description.

bumming at uni again
well here I am in the music lab. I've got an hour till clarinet and at the moment I have nothing to do... well actually... there is plenty for me to do... but I can't do it here because I don't have my stuff with me. Like... I could write up my bangkok blog! but I don't have my photos with me.
I did do my aural transcription which is due next friday which I'm feeling very good about. Now all I have to do is type it out neatly.
Other things I should be doing right now:
-my keyboard journal which is due next monday
-my reading for classical/romantic music which i need to do by next wednesday (i could really do it now but that means i have to walk up the stairs to the library... way too much effort)
-sight singing... gah there is so much of it that i have to do
-paying elsie for the carts weekend away.
-i should also practice my keyboard.
I'm also supposed to have an auralia test next friday so i should practice that more but i've had enough of it! so I will do it later.
so... what else has been happening in my life?
well yesterday I went to gloria jeans at central with Cler and Cathy and we had a long girly discussion about very deep and important topics. I'm not sure if i said the right thing... but i guess it's just something i should think about a bit longer before i say anything else.
on wednesday i had bible study at my house and me and Cler cooked dinner for everyone. I cooked chicken rice, marinated the chicken and chopped the veggies... and Cler did the chicken and veggie stir fry. it was quite tasty. I was very pleased with how my chicken rice turned out. Jimmy our leader wasn't there... so we decided to play games instead of study... we played citadels. it was vicious! but still fun. Yee Mun won which was cool because it was her first time of playing. It always seems to work out that way... unless Jonny is playing... he always wins.
i also got my computer on wednesday. I played with it a bit after bible study. new things are cool.
what else is there to write about?
I might leave it at there.

A Wongala Burger-Packed Weekend
Church is Cool!!!
Recently I've been hanging around church A LOT! My whole weekend is filled up with church stuff... and I'm realling enjoying it. It all starts on friday.....
Youth Group! For the past few weeks... we've been studying the book of Job... it was interesting... but maybe not that applicable to the new people. Last friday we took the whole youth group up to circular quay because we've finished the study series. The leaders there were Me, Cler, Jonny, Josh, Forgie and Eugene. Cler and Forgie missed the train by about 10 seconds... so I had to look after the 20 girls there. We walked around the Opera House a couple of times... got 'professional' pictures taken by Euge, ate ice cream and ate maccas. Then we all went back to church... Gosh my girls are noisy! But I'm glad they had fun. Once we got back and all the kids were gone... the leaders stayed back and watched Howl's Moving Castle on the big screen. The movie was quite long and we were all a bit tired but we all had a couch/mat each and we just lazed about. There were quite a few funny parts. The Turnip Head guy was cool. We also had krispy kremes which was a bonus (thx Forgie and Cler!). One other friday... all the leaders (exept Cler) went to maccas because we were hungry. We had a nice long d&m. So recently, fridays end at 2am. Cler likes to sleep over on fridays.
Saturday....
Used to be my lazy day but 2 weeks ago... I went to a ministry training day called SCCCA which is a chinese church training event at moore college. All of the switch leaders (Grace, Cler, Jonny, Josh, Forgie and Eugene [+ me]) went up. Our church isn't chinese but there sure are a lot of chinese people in our church... and seeing that the event was free... we decided to tag along. Then after that... we went to church to hang out and play board games. Citadels is like one of the best games ever! Cler likes to sleep over on Saturdays too! My house is like her second home now. She has her own bed here and keeps her sleeping bag, towel, toothbrush and shampoo here.
Sunday...
Switch in the morning, then church... then lunch. Often... Cler comes over for lunch and hangs out at my place. We watch movies, talk and nap! She also looks after my dogs. Then we might go off to a switch meeting at church or a music meeting... and then... Introducing God. Introducing God is this special event that we are having at church in the night service. What happens is that we all sit around round tables and have dinner.. then we hear a talk and have discussion groups on our table. The discussions have been really awesome. Talking about things like how can we be sure that what we believe is true, how should we act towards God, why does God act the way he does sometiems... etc. Then we have dessert! mmmmm. Then I go home and plonk in my bed.
Me and Cler are sisters now and we always stay up late having d&ms. It is good fun. (Kekekeke remember friday night??? :P )
Sometimes I do work on the weekend... but now I'm making it that Thursday (my day off uni) is my weekend. Then I have all the time in the world on the weekend to hang out with friends :)

back from planet zog
gosh I can't believe how long it has taken me to get back into the swing of things. I'm fully bogged down by uni and trying to balance that with youth group, bible studies and my own personal devotions, plus violin teaching, violin practice, clarinet and piano practice... and everything else that I have forgotten.
I really really wanna type up the blog from my trip to bangkok but that will have to wait for a day when I have nothing to do... which will be a day very far from today.
also... my computer crashed... so I have to use my mum's old windows 98 computer. I'm thinking of getting a mac laptop so if you have any helpful hints (jen or bec???) that would be much appreciated.
I really like uni at the moment though. My subjects are great and the assignments look like fun (eg: writing a cadenza for a famous concerto - I'm gonna write a mozart violin concerto cadenza). I've also become quite interested in ABC classic FM. If you listen on wednesday nights they have Jazz (or was that friday nights). Anyways... they generally have lots of good music on... and not just your boring baroque stuff... symphonies and operas and concertos. It's fantasmical!
My eyes are about to drop out of their sockets because they are tired and dried up that they might shrivel up tiny and therefore drop out of my sockets. I should sleep... but sleep is for the faint hearted... and anyways... I slept on the train on the way to uni today (at 12pm). I sleep on the train all the time now. The gentle rocking of the train is quite relaxing. Oh what the heck... I'll go to sleep now!

unfortunately... my computer hard drive crashed (it's the third time actually). So I'm giving up on my computer and looking into getting a new one. It also means that it is going to be a little tricky to post up my hoilday diary cuz I want to post it up with the pictures. Thankfully my pictures are still saved on my camera. So for now... I will write about uni (because I am at uni right now and trying to kill time while I wait for orchestra to start).
I've only had two classes so far. I can tell already that it is going to be a very bludgy semester. For example... today I have a class at 9-12... then have cbs at 1-2... and then wait around until 6.30 for orchestra which finishes at 9pm. A very fun day. Probably later on though I will have assignments to do and stuff. Here is what I did today:
6.10am: alarm went off... dad turned on my bedroom light so that I wouldn't go back to sleep.
6.45am: got out of bed, ate breakfast and made lunch and dinner (this took a while!). watched sunrise on tv.
7.40am: this was the time I intended to leave and walk to Pennant Hills station.
7.45am: this was when I actually left so decided to go to Beecroft station so I wouldn't miss the train.
8.00am: caught the train and was very happy that it was a quick train that didn't stop at denistone and other places like that. Had a nice nap.
8.37am: the train was 2 mins late arriving at central station... saw the huge line for buses (wasn't really a line... more like a cluster of people). I've never had to catch a bus this early.
8.45am: finally got on the bus... it was the 5th bus in line.
9.00am: complaining that I wasn't at uni yet and that I would be late for my lecture and worried cuz my lecturer hates my year group. Also complained that I would now have to wake up earlier and get an earlier train.
9.06am: arrived at uni... wasn't sure what room I was in and couldn't see anyone i knew so I asked the office lady what room I was in... had to wait for a while because she was talking on the phone to her friend (as usual). still complaining about having to wake up earlier.
9.15am: got to room... lecturer ignored me which was good. I hadn't missed much.
10.35am: lecturer decides that he has explained everything so lets us go early. I contemplate whether I should go home and come back later but remember that cbs is on. Naomi invites me to her place and she demonstrates her violin, clarinet and electric organ skills at my request.
12.05pm: Naomi had to go to electric organ lesson so I go and meet up with christians in arts on the lawn where I meet a few people.
1.00pm: go to cbs. talk is on matt 8:1-17. i've forgotten what i learned already (good thing i wrote it down). it was a good talk.
2.00pm: hang out with other cbs people outside the building. then we decide to go to coffee. i have hot chocolate for $3.20.
3.45pm: we all disperse to either go home, go to class or in my case, go to library.
4.23pm: finished writing blog.

days gone past
haven't blogged in a while.
hmmm i have to check my calendar to see what i've been doing lately...
31/1/06 - went to botanical gardens with cler... very fun... we walked around the whole place... and also visited Dan at the lindt shop in martin place... that was tasty. Then we went back to the gardens and me and cler walked around the whole place (opps already said that) and then we found a bench and talked for a while. nice time. we also took lots of funny photos on her phone.

next few days: me and mum did heaps of shopping for my dad's 60th party... the shopping was very tiring.
yesterday: had my dad's 60th birthday party. It was quite fun. Cler came too and we all ate heaps of bbq food and nice salads and talked and did puzzle and talked and listened to music and played nintendogs and talked on net and talked. There were 3 cakes! so tasty man!

today: church... nap time... switch meeting... dinner... blog now! (i've updated all my blogs! go check it out!)
