*tear* KYLC is over...

It's sad... KYLC is over... I had the most awesome time. I met lots of people and caught up with lots of old friends. Also... we heard fantastic talks from Kirk Patston who spoke from Ezekiel and Grant Retief who spoke from Matthew. We were all challenged about how we lead and were comfronted with the things that will count in eternity. I also learned lots more about God and his Sovereignty. I bought the mp3s so I can listen to them again and again.

Another part of KYLC was the strand groups... this year I did strand 3 which meant that I had to pick a topic/question and see what the Bible had to say about it. My question was "Can war be justified?" It's quite a difficult question actually and there were lots of points that I had to try and fit together. In the end my strand leaders were a great help and I've come to some sort of conclusion. Now I'm trying to figure out how to package my points into a Bible study.

Ivan, Raj (morning session leader), Susie, Me, Cler and Dan.

It wasn't all hard work though... I had plenty of time to meet new people and hang out and do fun stuff. I met my new sister Susie (and her boyfriend Ivan) and my new brother Dan. We hung out a lot and got to learn lots about each other by playing '20 questions' (which actually turned out to be heaps more than 20 questions). We also made matching bracelets. We will be bonded by bracelet-hood forever!Hands from bottom then clockwise: Susie's two hands, my two hands, Cler's two hands and Dan's hand.

Here is some new vocabulary I learned:
spading: the act of picking up a girl/guy at a Christian conference... funny to joke about but I wouldn't encourage it... keep focused on the Word!
shovelling: intense spading (ie: groups of people at a time)
bull-dozing: extreme spading (ie: everyone at the conference)
classy: sophisticated coolness
shack attack: being knocked back after asking someone out
the money: as in "thats the money shot," meaning you've got it right!

the 4 1/2 hour trip home was a bit exciting and adventurous... but I wont go into that.

Symphony in The Domain

Yesterday I went to Symphony in The Domain with Jen, her bf and her family. It was really cool!

This is the food... well what was left of it! There was also salad and rolls.

This is a picture of the crowd (and Jen's arm). They say there were 85,000 people there... is a lot of people!

This is me and Jen... Awwww!!!

Here is me, Jen and Jono (or Johno or Jonno or Jonoe, sp?). Happy times!

Cleo Wannabe

Most of you probably didn't know that I have an alter ego called Cleo Wannabe... she's basically a scary 14 yr old version of me. She's very into plants, the environment and 80s/90s adjectives (correct me if I'm wrong Jen).

To see her blog... which I am a team member of (unfortunately), click here.

Have a nice day.

grr + gah =

gggrrrrrrrrrrraaaaaAAAHHHHHH!!!!! (= ver ver very angry)

Just when I finally found something fun and exciting to do when no one is talking on the net (playing canasta on yahoo games), my internet has to stuff up! Wireless internet is supposed to be faster... and more convenient... but it's turning out to be the complete opposite! grr!

And if you are saying... 'it's only a game,' it is SO much more than just a game:

1] for starters... it's a two/four player game... which means that there are other people relying on my internet to keep up so that we can have a good game and actually finish it.
2] it's a rated game which means everytime my internet cuts in the middle of a game... my user profile shows me as abandoning games! And just recently... I was playing... and I was winning... which I was really happy about because that meant my rating would go up... the internet cut! All that hard work! It's a very time consuming game!

my poor poor rating! I only started playing today and when I was just starting to win... my internet cuts! I'm peed off! I'm never going to move up from provisional now! :'(

Here's to you kid.

So... today I watched Casablanca. It's a pretty good movie... I thought it would be a major chick flick but surprisingly it isn't. Basically... the hero, Rick, has to choose whether he is going to help his old flame Ilsa and her husband escape unoccupied France. Set in the time of the war. Yeah.. I liked it.

And that pretty much summarises my day... bumming around watching movies and washing the dishes.

Jen's Dinner Party

Yesterday was a full on day!
In the morning... until 6pm... I had my switch leaders meeting. This year some of the things that I will be doing is writing a topical on war and writing some biblical theology studies which I am quite excited about. We've also got some pretty fun social's planned. I'm looking forward to watching my girls grow up... I realised that the groups are going to be substantially smaller this time cuz lots of the girls are moving up to seniors. SCARY!

Then I went to Jen's house for her annual dinner party. It started at 6.30... so I was home for about 15 mins to get ready. Jen and Mel cooked a tasty 3 course meal. I was very full afterwards... very satisfied. We talked and played with candles and with those glass pebble things... I stacked 5 of them and the other guys couldn't stack 5! I was so proud of myself for the whole 5mins that I remembered that I did it. kekeke. Memorable moments... everyone singing the 'moose' song: "There was a moose, Who liked to drink a lot of juice" :)
I had lots of fun catching up with old school pals. Can't wait for the next gathering. With school friends... talking and eating just seems so much fun!
Time for photos (thanks Bob):

week update

I've been busier than normal lately. I was thinking about telling off people for not blogging but then remembered that I haven't blogged in a while either.

::3/1:: I went to the orthodontist. My teeth are going well... and I need to wear my plate for another year. grr...

::4/1:: I went bowling with Jen, Bec, Sarah, Steve, Jenny, Tom and Alistair. It was fun. Surprisingly I did alright! :)
Pictures can be seen on my msnspace.

::5/1:: I went to dinner with Cler, Millie, Grace, Ben, Josh, Seb and Jonny at Inferno at Macquarie Centre. It was kinda a farewell dinner to say bye to Ben who is going back to NZ on Saturday. Actually though... there wasn't much farewelling going on. Me and Cler shared a tasty "Taste of India" gourmet pizza. YUM!!! After that we went to Gracie's house and played Citadel and this crazy spanish dice probability game which was actually quite fun! Then Me and Cler slept over at Grace's house (Ben has been living there too). Like normal, me and Cler stayed up talking about all things random and all things not so random.

::today:: I was supposed to be having lunch with mum and her friend but when I got home they were already gone. So I stood in the middle of the hallway for about 3 minutes thinking of what I should do. In the end, I called Jen's house... then found out she wasn't in. Then I texted Jen, and she wasnt' free... So in the end I drove to Castle Towers (saw Cler's car, but no Cler) and bought a new bag. I like it because it was 30% off ($12 off... you do the math). I also bought a birthday present for a friend and also used up my HMV voucher on the latest Michael Bublé cd (It's Time). It's really cool. My favourites are 'Home,' 'Feeling Good,' and 'You and I.' I have also been listening to Il Divo's first cd. 'Mama' is a really sweet song.

well thats this week... what will next week bring???

We've only just begun...

It's true! We've only just begun (2006 that is).

::new years eve::
On new years eve I went over to Clarinda's house where we ate food and played lots of eyetoy3. We could also see the fireworks from her balcony which was cool. Most people left at about 12.30... then me and Cler continued to play eyetoy till 2am. So we eventually got to bed at 2:30. Not too bad! I even stayed awake all through church.

::new years day::
In church we looked at Peter's 'failed resolution' in Mark where he said he wouldn't betray Jesus... yet he did pretty badly! It's just like our world today, we say we aren't gonna do this or we say we will do something... but then forget to. But even in our faulty world... God forgives us. And his forgivness is so great! So thank God!

I then went and saw "The Chronicals of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe." It was fully excellent. I really enjoyed it. The story is so amazing... and then you remember that it actually happened (cuz it is a Christian allegory) and then the story just seems so much better! I'm going to go and see it again with my parents. The kids acted surprisingly well and they worked so well together. And the White Witch was actually pretty scary... even though she didn't really look it at first. Oh and the landscapes!!! Cair Paravel was so pretty.

::today::
Today I played with my dogs, then watched some tv, then ate lunch, then went on the net and googled 'narnia.' I put together a couple of nice pics I found into a wallpaper. If you want it... take it:
It's a bit rough but anyway... it's messy in an arty way.

Oh and today I also put into place my new years resolution:
1) Get organised with weekly timesheets and study plans (that last bit hasn't started cuz I have nothing to study yet!)
2) Read the bible in a year (I got this lil guide thing which splits the Bible into daily readings. Because I didn't get to start yesterday, I read yesterday's and today's readings today)

Well I think that's enough from me!
