bumming at uni again

well here I am in the music lab. I've got an hour till clarinet and at the moment I have nothing to do... well actually... there is plenty for me to do... but I can't do it here because I don't have my stuff with me. Like... I could write up my bangkok blog! but I don't have my photos with me.
I did do my aural transcription which is due next friday which I'm feeling very good about. Now all I have to do is type it out neatly.
Other things I should be doing right now:
-my keyboard journal which is due next monday
-my reading for classical/romantic music which i need to do by next wednesday (i could really do it now but that means i have to walk up the stairs to the library... way too much effort)
-sight singing... gah there is so much of it that i have to do
-paying elsie for the carts weekend away.
-i should also practice my keyboard.

I'm also supposed to have an auralia test next friday so i should practice that more but i've had enough of it! so I will do it later.

so... what else has been happening in my life?

well yesterday I went to gloria jeans at central with Cler and Cathy and we had a long girly discussion about very deep and important topics. I'm not sure if i said the right thing... but i guess it's just something i should think about a bit longer before i say anything else.

on wednesday i had bible study at my house and me and Cler cooked dinner for everyone. I cooked chicken rice, marinated the chicken and chopped the veggies... and Cler did the chicken and veggie stir fry. it was quite tasty. I was very pleased with how my chicken rice turned out. Jimmy our leader wasn't there... so we decided to play games instead of study... we played citadels. it was vicious! but still fun. Yee Mun won which was cool because it was her first time of playing. It always seems to work out that way... unless Jonny is playing... he always wins.
i also got my computer on wednesday. I played with it a bit after bible study. new things are cool.

what else is there to write about?

I might leave it at there.

A Wongala Burger-Packed Weekend

Church is Cool!!!

Recently I've been hanging around church A LOT! My whole weekend is filled up with church stuff... and I'm realling enjoying it. It all starts on friday.....

Youth Group! For the past few weeks... we've been studying the book of Job... it was interesting... but maybe not that applicable to the new people. Last friday we took the whole youth group up to circular quay because we've finished the study series. The leaders there were Me, Cler, Jonny, Josh, Forgie and Eugene. Cler and Forgie missed the train by about 10 seconds... so I had to look after the 20 girls there. We walked around the Opera House a couple of times... got 'professional' pictures taken by Euge, ate ice cream and ate maccas. Then we all went back to church... Gosh my girls are noisy! But I'm glad they had fun. Once we got back and all the kids were gone... the leaders stayed back and watched Howl's Moving Castle on the big screen. The movie was quite long and we were all a bit tired but we all had a couch/mat each and we just lazed about. There were quite a few funny parts. The Turnip Head guy was cool. We also had krispy kremes which was a bonus (thx Forgie and Cler!). One other friday... all the leaders (exept Cler) went to maccas because we were hungry. We had a nice long d&m. So recently, fridays end at 2am. Cler likes to sleep over on fridays.

Saturday....
Used to be my lazy day but 2 weeks ago... I went to a ministry training day called SCCCA which is a chinese church training event at moore college. All of the switch leaders (Grace, Cler, Jonny, Josh, Forgie and Eugene [+ me]) went up. Our church isn't chinese but there sure are a lot of chinese people in our church... and seeing that the event was free... we decided to tag along. Then after that... we went to church to hang out and play board games. Citadels is like one of the best games ever! Cler likes to sleep over on Saturdays too! My house is like her second home now. She has her own bed here and keeps her sleeping bag, towel, toothbrush and shampoo here.

Sunday...
Switch in the morning, then church... then lunch. Often... Cler comes over for lunch and hangs out at my place. We watch movies, talk and nap! She also looks after my dogs. Then we might go off to a switch meeting at church or a music meeting... and then... Introducing God. Introducing God is this special event that we are having at church in the night service. What happens is that we all sit around round tables and have dinner.. then we hear a talk and have discussion groups on our table. The discussions have been really awesome. Talking about things like how can we be sure that what we believe is true, how should we act towards God, why does God act the way he does sometiems... etc. Then we have dessert! mmmmm. Then I go home and plonk in my bed.

Me and Cler are sisters now and we always stay up late having d&ms. It is good fun. (Kekekeke remember friday night??? :P )

Sometimes I do work on the weekend... but now I'm making it that Thursday (my day off uni) is my weekend. Then I have all the time in the world on the weekend to hang out with friends :)

back from planet zog

gosh I can't believe how long it has taken me to get back into the swing of things. I'm fully bogged down by uni and trying to balance that with youth group, bible studies and my own personal devotions, plus violin teaching, violin practice, clarinet and piano practice... and everything else that I have forgotten.

I really really wanna type up the blog from my trip to bangkok but that will have to wait for a day when I have nothing to do... which will be a day very far from today.

also... my computer crashed... so I have to use my mum's old windows 98 computer. I'm thinking of getting a mac laptop so if you have any helpful hints (jen or bec???) that would be much appreciated.

I really like uni at the moment though. My subjects are great and the assignments look like fun (eg: writing a cadenza for a famous concerto - I'm gonna write a mozart violin concerto cadenza). I've also become quite interested in ABC classic FM. If you listen on wednesday nights they have Jazz (or was that friday nights). Anyways... they generally have lots of good music on... and not just your boring baroque stuff... symphonies and operas and concertos. It's fantasmical!

My eyes are about to drop out of their sockets because they are tired and dried up that they might shrivel up tiny and therefore drop out of my sockets. I should sleep... but sleep is for the faint hearted... and anyways... I slept on the train on the way to uni today (at 12pm). I sleep on the train all the time now. The gentle rocking of the train is quite relaxing. Oh what the heck... I'll go to sleep now!
