myc'06 - irelate

Here is the long awaited recap of what I learned at myc:

The topic was relationships... and we pretty much covered all relationships you could think of - boy/girl, parents/kids, brothers and sisters in Christ (church), relationships with the world, relationship with God.
We learned that God is a relational person, and this is seen through his relationship with himself in the trinity - Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Since we are made in God's image, it is only natural that we are relational beings too. God wants us to relate to him and to others just as he relates to himself, in love. But these relationships are not just for our pleasure, in all our relationships we should seek to glorify God, as the trinity does as well. God seeks to have relationship with us, but we stuffed up big time. There is nothing we can do to enter into a relationship with God. Lucky for us... God loved us so much that he sent his Son to pay the price for our stuff up. Jesus came to Earth as a man, and was crucified. Our wrongs were paid for. But he didn't stay dead. He rose from the dead, overcoming death so that we could be raised to life with him. God is King. And he calls us to have relationship with him. The tough challenge now is to try and glorify God in all our relationships.

it's so true, but you're right the tricky part is to glorify God in our relationships.. hard to put into practise but yay that we have him to help us do so.
