icing on the cake

Can you believe it? I don't think my week could have gotten any better.
I got food poisoning. Most likely from the sushi that I had on wednesday night. So I been stuck in bed and feeling a bit gross... This morning I fully fainted and collapsed and have a few bruises. All I can take down is diluted juice (doctor's orders) and plain toast.
Home is boring. Someone please entertain me!

The week so far...

::22/4::
Jen had her practice recital for her Amus exam. She played 4 contrasting works. She is still so good! The last time I heard her play was in year 12. I also got to catch up with Bec and Alistair. They are a funny bunch.

::23/4::
Church! Then went to play badminton with Yvonne, Ash, Aidz, Euge, Vic and Ted. I'm so out of practice. We were playing doubles... it was ok... but with doubles... there is the chance that you wont get to do much... and then you slack off... and then when you can do something... you're slacked off and you miss. Bring on the singles!
I then went home and watched Baz Lurhman's Romeo and Juliet which Euge lent to me. It is such a good movie! I love how Baz had so much attention to detail. Like the story is still exactly the same but the way he made it modern... so clever.
I also did some reading for my consultation which would be on 24/4. I was so stressed about it.
I went to night church too. Ellie came which was cool. There was also dinner so we all got to catch up and chat which was fun. Ant is engaged! He was like skipping everywhere... so cute!

::24/4::
Consultation day! ARGH!!! I basically did all my assignment in the one hour before I had to go to uni. So I was really stressed that my lecturer would fully slam me. But when I got there... she was just saying "Yeah this all looks good... I can see you put lots of effort into it" (lol! only one hour!). Then she just told me to write more on one of my points in the essay plan and cut out another point. Then she said "So have you actually been able to read the readings yet?" WHAT! I didn't actually have to read them?!?!?! All that stress for nothing!

::25/4::
Had a picnic with my junior girls (all 3 of them who decided to come) at 9am. I learned a lot about them. It scares me how much they know about certain topics. I should talk to them... but I dunno how I can bring it up. We played cheat and uno and twister... and ran around the garden a bit. It was a fun time.
Then went off to Jimmy's apartment to have an Anzac day BBQ. I had already eaten lots of chips on the picnic with my girls... but I still ate heaps of chips at Jimmy's. I felt really sick afterwards. The BBQ was tasty too. Then we all went off to the park to play soccer, touch footy, frisbee and boules.
We then went back to the apartment... some people left... and in the end it was only me, Cler, Euge, Phil and Jimmy left. So we went to some place near eastwood to have indian. It was tasty. Cler's tongue was like burning. Then we dropped Cler home and watched some comedian at her place. Then I got home at 11.15pm. Long day out!

::26/4::
Yeah... I had a cadenza and short paper due today... And I hadn't really done much at all on it. So I had to do it all in the 3hrs I had before travelling to uni. I got the cadenza written alright and the short paper just flowed after that. I think the paper was ok... dunno about the cadenza... it follows the rules... but could have been better. I'm not totally fussed though.
Had bible study. The topic was pretty hard. It was on James ch4. Lots of full on stuff in it. For prayer time... the girls and guys split up. And Grace was like "What is going on?!?!" So we filled her in. Yee Mun had a good laugh. So we talked a lot and they guys were like... "Have you finished praying yet?!?" So then we prayed. We must have all been worn out because everyone left. I stayed back to help Phil with the washing. He knows everything too... it seems that bad news travels fast.

and today.... well I dunno...

friday already!

Last night I went to an info night for Maitland Alive mission. It was cool. I got to see Susie and Ivan again which was cool. I wasn't sure which section I wanted to join cuz they all sound really good... at first I thought I would do minis (k-2), but then realised that I have never done a yr3-5 age group before... so I considered KHAOS (yr3-5). There is another group which name is TBA (yr6-9) which I don't wanna do because I'm already doing that stuff at the moment. The other group ROCK (yr10-12) is sounding very tempting as well. I think I will end up doing ROCK. Cuz I wanna get into those deep discussions... it's encouraging seeing people learn, but I also learn which is cool.
Cler stayed over again. I had a long chat with her and other people... was quite a stressful evening. Was feeling sick in the stomach again.

This morning I was feeling quite good. I surprisingly slept in till 11 and felt like singing... so I sang "Feeling Good" to Cler and she was a bit surprised. I also felt like eating... so I did that. I also played Cler my E chromatic scale on the clarinet. It was quite relieving knowing that everyone knew everything. Even though it's awkward... I quite like it that everyone is clear on the truth now.
I also listened to lots of music. I love music!
I did try to do one of my music assignments... it sucks... like I'm stressed about it because my lecturer is so good and knows like absolutely everything and I know so little. So it's quite intimidating. (BTW the assignment is where I have to meet up with my lecturer one on one and tell her what I'm learning about this specific piece of music... geez I'm so screwed!) It's my fault though that I don't know anything because I went to the library a bit too late and all the books were gone.

I made chicken rice... it was tasty. It's good to have your appetite back.

:( back to uni on monday... I only have a weekend to catch up on stuff I should have done earlier. Oh and I need to email Susie... hmmm will do that now! :P

Easter Show Pics

Holy is the Lord - Andrew Peterson

Recently songs have been really working for me. This is like one of my favourite songs at the moment. The lyrics are so cool.

Wake up little Isaac
And rub your tired eyes
Go and kiss your mama
We’ll be gone a little while
Come and walk beside me
Come and hold your papa’s hand
I go to make an altar
And to offer up my lamb

I waited on the Lord
And in a waking dream He came
Riding on a wind across the sand
He spoke my name
“Here I am”, I whispered
And I waited in the dark
The answer was a sword
That came down hard upon my heart

Holy is the Lord
Holy is the Lord
And the Lord I will obey
Lord, help me I don’t know the way

So take me to the mountain
I will follow where You lead
There I’ll lay the body
Of the boy You gave to me
And even though You take him
Still I ever will obey
But Maker of this mountain, please
Make another way

Holy is the Lord
Holy is the Lord
And the Lord I will obey
Lord, help me I don’t know the way

interesting

17th April:
Went to easter show with Eugene, Cler and Forgie. Cler was there all day while me, Euge and Forgie just came after 5 because it's cheaper. Oh man it was like the best fun! We looked at the animals first. Me and Cler went into the petting area while Euge and Forgie took "daddy" photos. Euge took lots of photos... should be able to put them up soon! EXCITING! Then we looked at the food stalls and art stuff and showbags. We didn't buy any showbags... but the ARMY showbag was quite tempting for a certain someone. Then we went on the rides. OMGosh this was the best fun. We started on the soft ride - the ferris wheel. We were quite lucky cuz the fireworks were going as we were up in the sky. That was fun. Then we went on the "Taipan." I've been on this many a time. They have a camera on it this time though. The photo was so funny! Cler took a photo of the photo. Then we went on the "crazy coaster." We went on it twice... it was so funny... we posed for the camera... for the first photo... i just acted serious... hahaha looked so funny. And Euge did this crazy scary face. And Cler had this massive cheezy smile... and Forgie looked happy... it was so funny! We didn't get to take a picture of the picture though because the people were standing right next to it. But the image will forever be stuck in my head. Gosh i can't stop laughing. Good times.
Cler slept over and we talked till about 1am.

18th April:
Today was a really crap day. I was just feeling really pissed and bad. For starters.. had to wake up... then me and Cler are like walking fast to the train... and only just miss it! So waited 30 mins and talked a bit more... listened to backstreet boys. Uni sucked. It was such a waste of a day. There were like only 2 books that were helpful... and I only got like 2 sentences from them. I did find stuff on the net... but could have done that at home. Then I was hungry so I bought a foccacia for $6.50 which was way too much... and I didn't even finish it. Did a bit more research and decided to come home.
I saw Mark M on the train home... had a lil chat. Then at home... got on net and had long chat with Mark M, Cler and Euge. It was fully intense. 'Love Oblongs' suck.

19th April:
It's very early in the morning right now. I should sleep.

up late and personal

good evening everyone.

I'm up late again... well it's not even 12 yet so it's quite early acutally... but my parents are sleeping and I'm sitting in the dark in my room with my laptop on my lap. I'm feeling quite comfortable.

I haven't really been able to sleep well lately. Yesterday I had very restless sleep but that could have been because I had a 3 hr afternoon nap. But another reason I've been up late is silly Eugene and our very deep conversations at night. I'm very stupid and always decide to make my mind work really hard late at night, thus keeping me awake when I should be asleep.

oooo... Ellie just told me something very exciting! :)

My bible reading has been going ok recently. I'm excited about getting up to psalms. The psalms are pretty encouraging. Reminds me of how great God is and how much he loves us. Sometimes it's easy to forget though because we have life so easy in Australia.

I haven't seen my school friends in ages. It's a bit sad... used to see them every day. And it's holidays too! I need to get off my lazy butt and organise something... but it's hard to organise stuff cuz there is always one person who can't come. Everyone has jobs... I need a job. If you are looking for someone who can work for you... I'm the person! I have num chuck skills, computer hacking skills, drawing skills. And I can ride over some sweet jumps. Some pretty awesome skills eh?! I know you want me.

hmmm my computer is pretty hot! need to give my legs some air.

well... I'm gonna end it here... dunno how much longer I'll be online.

my colour?

Take this test at Tickle

Your color is black. The color of night. Serene and mysterious, black conjures up images of elegant evening gowns, dashing tuxedos, and gleaming limousines. Traditionally a symbol of success, black also represents power and an uncompromising demand for perfection. Not surprisingly, you tend to set challenging goals for yourself and do whatever it takes to achieve them — your strength of character is second to none. This unfaltering determination, along with your natural elegance, impresses people. But keep in mind that your personality might be intimidating to some. Try to temper your demanding side with a little softness — trust us, it won't kill you. Overall, though, black is the color of professionalism and achievement, which means it's clearly the color for you.

You Know - REV!VE

I have so many dreams for my life
I'm going this way and that
Spending so much time worrying
About how it's all turning out

But you know where I've been
And you know where I'm going
Cause you see all my plans for what they are
I lay them all down

You keep the sparrow flying in the sky
Why do I question you?
The flowers of the field are wonderful
I'm a child in the palm of his father

But you know where I've been
And you know where I'm going
Cause you see all my plans for what they are

Cause you know where I've been
And you know where I'm going
Cause you see all my plans for what they are
And you know, and you know
Cause you see my plans for what they all are

I will worship
I will bow down
To you always

ACG

I've just come back from the Arts/Colleges Getaway. It's where a couple of the christians in arts and some of the christians from colleges go away for a weekend, hear some bible talks, do some bible studies and basically hang out (something arts people do best!)
I only went got there on saturday morning because I had switch on friday night. Here is what happened:
me and Sam left penno at 7.30am... so early!
got to Loftus at 9am: quiet time. So I went and did my quiet time.
9.30: session 1. We sang 3 songs (I played vioin) and heard a talk from Hebrews by Lewis Jones. (I'll go through the talks later.
11: had a 10 minute break and then went into bible study. In bible study we read through the whole of Hebrews and talked about our overall impressions of the book. In my group were Elsie, Meredith, Lindsay, Daniel, and Frances.
12.30: had lunch of spag bol and salad.
Once we finised lunch we went for a bush walk... very pretty scenary and there was a river and then came back and played ping pong, lied on the couches, played cards and ate lots of cheese!
4.20: realised that we were supposed to start bible studies at 4, so started bible studies. We read through Hebrews again but this time looked at reccuring themes and main issues and discussed questions that came up.
5.30: ate dinner of chicken caserole and garlic bread
7: Lewis gave his second talk from Hebrews
8.30: fun time! Played so many new games. They are too hard to write up on blog, so I'll just give the names. They were
-Family Serious
-Big Tractor
-Carrots
-G'day Bruce
-Watermelon game
-Animal Kingdom
11.30: decided to go to bed.

Sunday
7.30: woke up, lay in bed for a while
8.30: ate breakfast - fruit loops and vegemite on toast. I also had a mandarin
9: quiet time. I did it outside and it was a beautiful day and very refreshing
9.30: sang some songs, then had our last talk from Lewis.
11: our last discussion group. Liz joined our group this time.
12: tidy up the place and packed up my bags
12.30: ate lunch of burgers and everything left over.
2.13: left to go to Sutherland train station. In my car were Karina, Meredith, Lindsay and Daniel.
2.25: got on the train to central, then I changed trains to go to home to penno.

and now I'm home.

Hebrews talks summary:
- we have confidence by blood and have a high priest over the house of God, Therefore, let us:
-draw near
-hold fast the confession and
-consider how to stir up one another
this is our faith.
- faith is working when our faith in God unleashes God's power. This power of assurance makes us continue to trust God in our times of suffering (i'm not sure if that made sense to you)
- a father will always discipline his children. We will face suffering because we are truly God's children.
- since we are witnesses of the faith, let us
-lay aside every weight (our sin)
-run the raice with enduranc
-consider him

hmmm yes that was a very breif description.
